Typical walk in shower ,with seat ,large 30 inch wide niche, , just like one on picture cost $6000 Included removal of Your old cast iron bathtub,  rough plumbing, electrical , drain relocation and conection , tiling walls and shower floor, instaling a hardware,  grouting and buffing the tiles ,waterproofing.,There is no caulk in my bathrooms. 

This is a cost of installation only , takes up to 10 days to do it , typically 7 days.

You are responsible for the materials which included cement boards, mortals , grouts, valves, diverter, tiles,drain  assembly, plumbing parts and fittings .

All materials needed to accomplish shower project ,cost  approximately $1800 , included glass

So if You converting from bathtub to beautiful walk in shower ,Your total budget should be just about $7800 to cover cost of labor and materials. 

This project may cost much less , and please ask Jack how, because there are opinions price effective and you may save yourself some money by simply not to choose them

Or cost of labor may change if You choose heated floors and heated shower seat.
